On the Wings of Prayer

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

On the wings of prayer our burdens take flight
And our load of care becomes bearably light,
And our heavy hearts are lifted above
To be healed by the balm of God's wonderful love,
And the tears in our eyes are dried by the hands
Of a loving Father who understands
All of our problems, our fears and despair,
When we take them to Him on the wings of prayer.

  1. Sweet, precious words...

    Helen Steiner Rice was a poet who had much influence in her lifetime...so many greeting cards with her words...do you remember? I have an entire book of her poems here someplace and, though the rhyme schemes are simple, the words tell the greatest truths.

  4. Beautiful post. I love this verse...and am reminded of my precious daughter every time I read it. In her last days here on earth the Lord gave me that verse one day when she looked at me and told me she was sorry I was so tired. I thank him for giving me something to give her and for me to hold onto. Blessings to you.
