Blog Button Freebie and Scripture Project

Well I made a shabby blog button for you, or you may like to use the image in your digital scrapbooking or artwork.  Yours to use as you'd like.   I love the sepia and distressed look of this little gem.   A good reminder for us that no matter what happens we can always have Faith, Hope and Love.

It is based on this scripture:
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.  I Corinthians 13:13

As you may know I Corinthians 13 is known as the Love chapter.  Which makes it the perfect scripture to use at weddings.  I'll share with you a project I make often to give as a wedding gift using this scripture.   I typed the scripture in "Word" using a fancy font and placed the bride and groom's first names along with their wedding date in the middle of the scripture.   I used my wedding date and name as an example below.

The colors and method I use for completing this project depends on the bride and groom's taste.  If you use photo editing software, you could digitally add a background before you print it out, or print it on paper that already has a design (would need to be light).  The last one I made, which is pictured below, I printed on vellum with brown ink, had a bright pink scrapbook paper under the vellum, matted it and framed it.  I usually do a 5x7 picture with an 8x10 frame.

The silver frame included the mat and my choice of monogram letter.  I often find my frames and mats at "The Christmas Tree Shop".  They are inexpensive and usually have a selection of distressed frames which I like.  It's probably my most favorite place to shop, although thankfully (for my husband) it's quite a distance from my home and I don't get there that often.

Hope this idea inspires you.

  1. I just LOVE this Verse. It is full of such wisdom. And, it applies to all types of love...but of course is used most often, I would think for weddings. The lessons in the Scripture apply to love for a friend, for example.

I love your idea for wedding gifts! Your sample came out beautifully...and now we all know your anniversary! LOL
