Happy New Year. January 1, 2011. I pray for God's blessings on you and your family in this coming year. At our ladies Bible Study the other night, a friend of mine made a statement that really made me think. She said if we can put so much energy and time into getting ready for Christmas, we should be able to invest some of that same energy on getting into our Bibles and spending more time with the Lord.
I don't make New Year resolutions, but rather some goals for myself. For 2011, that will be one of my goals, to spend more time in prayer and in my Bible. I'd like to share one of my favorite scriptures with you:
It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. Lamentations 3:22-24
That's a WOW verse for me.
The Lord's love, goodness, forgiveness, truth and compassions keep us from being consumed by the troubles this world has to offer.
His mercies NEVER end, they are NEW every morning. We can always have HOPE through our FAITH that He keeps all of His promises.
I've included in this post an image of a vintage New Year postcard freebie for your personal use. You can click on the image for a larger view. Thanks for stopping by.
God Bless,
Such a truth and a wonderful post, Abby!! I also love that verse plus verse 25 which says "The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him."
ReplyDeleteTo God be the glory! Looking forward to His return. Hugs to you my dear friend!
