Do you have bird feeders? My husband and I love to watch the birds, he tends quite a few feeders. The hummingbirds are very active at the feeders this year. I've been trying to get a picture of them, but so far it hasn't worked. I'll share it with you when I do.
Yesterday a strange thing happened at the feeders....a Coopers Hawk swooned in and captured a Mourning Dove. We didn't actually see the swooning, but saw the after effects. My husband is a bird man and knows many species and can identify a lot of birds by their song. I'm still learning, but it doesn't stop my appreciation of them. What kind of birds do you have at your feeders?
Here's a Victorian bird graphic I've cleaned up a bit, and as usual, am offering this, and the other images in this post free to you.

The next image I'm sharing today is a scripture card from the Victorian era. I just love to have scripture surrounded by loveliness, don't you?

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31

Have a blessed day my friends. Remember...God knows when a sparrow falls, and when a hawk swoons in on a mourning dove. He knows and cares about your troubles....He knows the number of hairs on your head. He is constantly thinking about you and will see you through the trials you face.
Beautiful images, and a very sweet post too. Have a wonderful day. Thanks for your email :)
ReplyDeleteHi Abby, these images are beautiful. I don't have a bird feeder, but we have a lot of Red Robins and Blue Jays out, that are just gorgeous. God is awesome in His creativity.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Beautiful! I love them all!
ReplyDeleteDear Abby thank you for these beautiful images as always you are so kind to offer this to us. I feed the birds in winter time :) in summertime here in Iceland the birds do not want to be in our gardens :( the have a lot to eat in the nature. But as soon as come frost again we feed them. If you like to see some photos of my "cute dinner guests" just scroll my blog I did post some photos this winter of them, they are so cute - called AuĂ°nutittlingur (Carduelis flammea) - Common Redpoll.
ReplyDeleteThe very same message was on my radio devotional when I awoke this morning - God knows when the sparrow falls. He must be especially wanting me to know that today.
ReplyDeleteI take a daily walk and I always see and hear all varieties of birds. It is a highlight of my day. I would love to learn to identify more birds by their songs.
Thank you, thank you for the Scripture postcards, I love them! Appreciate so much your sharing them.
