Make me a Blessing

So much hurt and troubles held inside so many.

What would it take to lift someone's spirits . .

a kind word...

a smile...

a forgiving heart?

This hymn "Make me a Blessing" written in 1909 by Ira Wilson, pretty much sums it up:

Out in the highways and byways of life,
Many
 are weary and sad;
Carry the sunshine where darkness is rife,
Making the sorrowing glad.

Make me a blessing, make me a blessing,
Out of my life may Jesus shine;
Make me a blessing, O Savior, I pray,
Make me a blessing to someone today.

You can see the full hymn lyrics and more information about the author here:  Make Me a Blessing

And be kind to one another,
tenderhearted,
 forgiving one another,
even as God in Christ forgave you.

Ephesians 4:32 NKJV

A great reminder to be kind.

Many times it's those little things (like you mentioned) that give someone just the "boost" they need. A kind word, a smile, a listening ear -- these bring comfort to a hurting heart.

One of my all time favorite hymns..love it..and love the reminder to always smile as it might be the only good thing some people may see that day..

Thank you Abby - I try to encourage as much as I can - a conscious choice in reaction to what has happened to me over the years.
Blessings
