Make me a Blessing

So much hurt and troubles held inside so many.

What would it take to lift someone's spirits . .

a kind word...

a smile...

a forgiving heart?

This hymn "Make me a Blessing" written in 1909 by Ira Wilson, pretty much sums it up:

Out in the highways and byways of life,
Many
 are weary and sad;
Carry the sunshine where darkness is rife,
Making the sorrowing glad.

Make me a blessing, make me a blessing,
Out of my life may Jesus shine;
Make me a blessing, O Savior, I pray,
Make me a blessing to someone today.

And be kind to one another,
tenderhearted,
 forgiving one another,
even as God in Christ forgave you.

Ephesians 4:32 NKJV

  1. Many times it's those little things (like you mentioned) that give someone just the "boost" they need. A kind word, a smile, a listening ear -- these bring comfort to a hurting heart.

  4. Thank you Abby - I try to encourage as much as I can - a conscious choice in reaction to what has happened to me over the years.
