A poem by Helen Steiner Rice (1900 - 1981), a businesswoman and poet. She worked years, for Gibson Greeting Card Co. Her books of inspirational, timeless poetry have sold millions. Helen certainly had her share of trials, which I believe inspired much of her poetry.
Do not be anxious,
said our Lord,
Have peace from day to day
The lilies neither toil nor spin,
Yet none are clothed as they.
The meadowlark
with sweetest song
Fears not for bread or nest
Because he trusts
our Father's love,
And God knows what is best.
~ Helen Steiner Rice ~
I love this poem and picture.
ReplyDeleteThat is very pretty! Remember when every greeting card (or so it seemed) had a verse by Helen Steiner Rice? Have a relaxing, blessed day...

ReplyDeleteYou always share the dearest thoughts, such lovely verses and encouragers. Sincerest
ReplyDelete"Thank You" and may the Lord bless you deeply. These I often use to encourage chemo patients, and right now a dear young lady who is terminally ill.
So beautiful and so true! Thanks!
