Thankful for God's Love

Here in the U.S., the Thanksgiving holiday is celebrated tomorrow. It causes many to pause and reflect on what they are thankful for, the blessings God has given them. One of the things I'm most thankful for is God's love, which He tells us, endures forever. I'm a child of a loving and living God, who loves me more than I can comprehend, for all of eternity.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever.
Psalm 106:1

❤❤❤❤❤

I remember reading a true story about a little boy, 5 years old, who was asked to give his blood so his sister could live. When the doctor explained it to him and asked if he was willing to do this, he hesitated but for a moment and said, "Yes, I'll do it if it will save Liza".

As the process began, he laid down in the hospital, his sister in a bed beside him. Quietly he asked if he would start to die right away. You see....he mistakenly thought he was going to have to give her ALL his blood. It brings tears to my eyes to think of this again, a little boy only on earth for 5 years, loved his sister SO much, he was willing to lay down his life to save hers.

❤❤❤❤❤

God loves us that much and more. He knows the numbers of hairs on our head, He thinks about us all the time, and wants what is best for us. He loves us with an unconditional love. If you put your trust in Him, you will have that love for all eternity. A hymn The Love of God written in 1917 sums this up.

O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song.

In this season of Thanksgiving, join me in remembering to take time to be Thankful for the Love of God. Let him know how grateful you are for His unconditional love.

So here I sit singing along. Woke early to start my day and accomplish stuff. THIS is more important. What could possibly be any more important than to recognize the LOVE of God and to receive that love?

I have snagged the graphic and, though I know that no one knows what John and Priscilla Alden looked like, this is the quintessential image. Amazing people both. I will use it to send Thanksgiving greetings to some of my dearest with the link here.

Thank you, Abby! Have a happy day before Thanksgiving and a blessed Thanksgiving tomorrow and all year through.

Thank you for reminding me of that story of the little boy's offering, Abby. I'm so thankful, too, for God's unconditional and unlimited love! I just found you last week. I love your graphics. :) Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
