25 Days God Given Gifts ~ Day 3

Unwrapping another one our God Given Gifts, Day 3.
December 3 - DELIVERANCE

You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with
songs of deliverance.
Psalm 32:7

Webster's 1828 dictionary defines today's gift as:
DELIVERANCE
Rescue from danger or any evil.

DELIVER - 1. To free; to release, as from restraint; to set at liberty; as, to deliver one from captivity.   2. To rescue, or save.

There was a time this year when my cell phone, along with thousands of other cell phones in my home state unexpectedly gave a piercing alarm sound. A message on my phone read there was an "amber alert". A little girl was missing and details of her disappearance were in the text message.

As a Nana to 10 children, you can bet children are near and dear to my heart. I prayed this little girl would be found, many many people were praying. A wonderful thing happened, someone delivered her to the police station in the town where she had gone missing. She was safe, free, released, delivered, and reunited with her family.

Sometimes, when things are out of our control, or even if they're not, we pray and put our trust in God, His will for the situation, and His time. He delivers us in a way that is best for us, even though we may not see it at the time.

Thank you dear ones for following this Advent Series. There are links below that will take you to the various places you can find this series.

Abby I wanted to tell you how I have been using these devotions. I saved them all from last year and printed them off to about 3 1/4 inch square. I cut them out and they fit perfectly into those little gift/jewelry boxes like you can get at Michael's. I wrapped them up and gave them to several friends on December 1. What better gift!! Also would make great party favors!

I do have a request -- is there any you can make the print bigger? Some are quite hard to read especially against the dark background.

Thank you so much for everything you share with us Abby! Blessings to your family and a very Merry Christmas!

Thank you for telling me the "rest of the story" about the Amber alert. As you know, my phone went off that day as well. It was quite shocking. Anyway, I never knew what the outcome was and I am thrilled to hear that everything turned out well.

This verse of Scripture is near and dear. Do you remember the Scripture song for this particular verse? I was elected to "introduce" it the congregation and sang it over and over and over until everyone got the hang of it. Many long years ago now... One way to learn Scripture is through song for sure.

Verna - The images were made in mind of printing them larger than you're doing, that's why the print is so small on them. One option would be to use photo paper when you print them out, that would give them a sharper image. Your gift idea sounds lovely, thanks for sharing it.

Vee - I don't know the song that goes with the verse, but maybe if I heard it, I would. Thanks for visiting here today. ~ Abby
