Bible Verse Thursday ~ The Fruit of the Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Galatians 5:22-23

It's time for another Bible Verse Thursday at Christian Paper Crafts, where I am the Challenge Hostess for this weekly Challenge.

I really enjoy the fresh fruit that summer brings. A few of the fruits local to me are raspberries, blueberries and strawberries. In this scripture, the word “fruit” refers to evidence of what is within. The fruit of the spirit are those characteristics, gracious habits, or spiritual fruits that reflect the glory of God through attitude, action and application.

Notice the scripture doesn’t say “fruits” of the spirit, but rather “fruit”. The nine “fruit” stand together: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control and make up our walk with God. We will enjoy a bountiful harvest of spiritual fruit when we yield to God and allow His Spirit to work in us as we travel on life’s journey. Just as we reap the benefits from fresh fruit; those around us will reap the benefits of our spiritual fruit.

My sample project this week was made digitally using “My Digital Studio” from Stampin Up and reflects the Fruit of the Spirit scripture found in Galatians 5:22-23.  Your challenge this week will be to make any project with a scripture of your choice. That’s right, ANY scripture that you choose for your project. Isn’t it a great week to do this ~ the week of Independence Day? I also encourage you to memorize this week’s scripture.

So get out your scripture stamps, digital graphics, computer generated scripture, or even a marker and play along with this challenge. I’m really excited to see what you make.  You can add a link to your project at the Christian Paper Craft Blog.  If uploading to SCS, please use the keyword CPC-BVT114.

Your prayers are needed:   I have mentioned my friend's son here before.  His name is Luke, he's 30 years old and has a malignant brain tumor.  He has had surgery and will be undergoing chemotherapy.   His mom Darlene has asked me to seek prayer for him through my blog.  She reads these posts and will see any comments you leave, and is greatly encouraged by them.  Thank you dear ones.  You are appreciated.
