A Reason to Celebrate

Free 4th of July Image
This is the day the LORD has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

Lots to celebrate this Fourth of July weekend which seems to mark the official start of summer.  We'll be attending a big parade in the next town over, having a cookout, and watching the fireworks on Monday.

My daughter and her husband celebrated their 5th anniversary today.  I took this picture of them on their wedding day, which is one of my favorites.  A candid shot of my daughter gazing lovingly at her new husband's ring.  Totally oblivious to everything else except them.  Five years later they have two little boys AND a brand new home delivered today (in three pieces) that they will be able to move into soon.

Happy 5th Anniversary to my dear daughter and her terrific husband!
I had promised you earlier in the week I'd have some patriotic images for you.  Since it's the 4th of July weekend, I thought I'd put 4 free images in this post.  Here's another one.

I have another reason to celebrate this weekend.  I'm having a yard sale and cleaning out some fabric, household linens and other great stuff.  It would be great if you all could come, but since the commute might be difficult, I'll post some pictures on here.  Why is this celebration?  Because I'm recognizing that I have a real problem when it comes to hoarding collecting fabric and textiles and I've done a big purge.  Nothing will be brought back in the house, everything will go one way or another.  And that feels really good.

One more reason to celebrate, my sister in law is coming to visit and I haven't seen her in a year, so I'm really excited about that.

Free 4th of July Graphic for you.
There you have it, four free 4th of July images from my collection.  Congratulations to Miss Kathy of The Writer's Reverie for being my Friday blog winner - a pack of 8 note-cards picturing Victorian children.  A new winner is drawn every week.  You can check out the details here as to how you can enter to win.  Friday Blog Giveaway

  3. Hooray! Thanks, Abby - I'm the winner of your lovely notecards! I can't wait to receive them and give them their place of honor in my antique writing desk!

    What fun!!

As to your post - enjoyed immensely! Especially the photo of your daughter on her wedding five years ago. My son and daughter-in-law celebrated their first five years yesterday on the 1st of July. They just bought their first house, too, and will be settled within the month. And, not two, but one miracle baby girl born three months early - but thriving now, turning a happy and healthy one the end of August.

    God is sooo good!

Thanks for the precious images! Have a lovely holiday weekend!

    Joy!
    Miss Kathy

  6. Abby, how super sweet of you to share all these amazing 4th of July images. I can never seem to find images for the 4th that are just right somehow, but you certainly changed that! These are adorable. It is so wonderful to see the photo of your daughter and her hubby and hear how happy they are. My ds just graduated from college after having some health problems that slowed down the process, and I think I am more excited than he is. Our children bring us such joy, don't they? Have a happy and blessed holiday!

  7. Happy 4th, Abby! And wishing your lovely daughter and her husband a very happy anniversary. Every wedding anniversary date is truly a celebration, isn't it?
I'll enjoy the sweet patriotic images. Thank you.
Wow. You have a terrific weekend to look forward to. Enjoy! Wish I could be at your sale...good luck. I'm proud of anyone who is able to purge their stash. It's a real problem with me also.
