Sweet Image for You

This is the day which the Lord hath made,
we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

I have THE sweetest advertising card to share with you today.  As you may know, I'm a pianist, love children, and pretty pink things.  This card combines all of those things that are dear to me.  These are free for you as usual.  Don't forget to click on the image for a larger size.  There is a box on my sidebar About the Images if you should have questions on use of them.

Here are a couple of pictures of the wonderful piano at my church.  It is a Steinway & Sons Grand piano and was donated years ago.  What a gift!!

Music is such an important part of my life, especially the old hymns.  I love to play the piano each Sunday in church.  I have trouble using my hands a lot of the time for certain tasks, but God has seen it fit that I'm still able to play in church.  I'm so thankful for that.

Thanks for stopping by today my friends.  I hope you have a delightful day.

  1. Good morning, Abby! I love both images...thank you. And I enjoyed the pictures of the piano and a part of your lovely church. Now we can imagine you on Sunday mornings sitting at that piano. That's a nice thought. Have a good day, Abby.

  2. Wonderful images; thank You.
    Beautiful grand piano as well.

Tip for Anyone who has stiff sore fingers.
To help limber up your fingers:
Stretching the fingers is a good idea if you are spending lengthy periods of time writing with a pen or pencil, or using the keyboard. Like in most stretching exercises, movement goes from one extreme to the other, and both tension and relaxation are involved. A basic finger stretch involves straightening the fingers while keeping them apart, stretch for about ten seconds, and then slowly bend the fingers inward, starting with the end knuckles and joints. Hold the new position for another 10 seconds, then relax. Repeating the process a few times will help keep the fingers limber, and keep sore fingers at bay.

  3. Abby,
We both love some of the same things....pianos, children, and vintage images!
"What a gift" is right -- makes me long to play again....maybe someday!
Thanks so much for sharing with us today!

  4. Oh, how I wish I had persevered in my music lessons when I was young. Too much math, I think - and I was never strong in that. I was able to slowly memorize a piece and then play it with great passion and impact - but, I was never a strong sight reader. After I moved away from my childhood home and piano, I lost what small repertoire I had because I wasn't practicing. I marvel at fingers that float over keys. Bless you in your gift! Thanks for the sweet ad art!
    Joy!

  6. What lovely images! And, is the piano you get to play every Lord's Day? What a blessing is that! What a beautiful church building too! Thanks for your generosity! Blessings. . .and not just little birdie ones, but big birdie ones, too! :D

  7. The images are neat. I took piano lessons as a child. I always wanted to memorize the songs, instead of reading the notes! I'd get two third's of the way through a piece, and then forget what note came next. Then I would want to start the music over. My piano teacher would go nuts! He always said, "Let's just pick up where you left off." Of course, I would just sit there in silence. Then Mr. Weber would proceed to scold me for memorizing... again! I hope that you are able to continue playing, without too much difficulty :)
