Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
As I was thinking about this scripture, a life verse for many. I compared the kind of trust Jesus is looking for in us, to that of a child. During the first few years of life, children who receive warm loving care, are able to establish a sense of trust with their parents or caregivers. Without a doubt, they know they will be fed, changed and loved. It may not come in their timing, but they know it will happen.
As they grow into the toddler years and venture out on mini explorations, they have the confidence to turn away from danger, and go back to the caregiver they trust, for reassurance, protection and guidance.
That’s what Jesus wants from us. Never a doubt that He will be THAT caregiver for us and meet our needs. Let's TRUST Him with complete confidence that He will do what is best for our life. He tells us in Isaiah 55:8, His ways are not our ways. Why? Because He’s all knowing. He knows our future. He sees the Master plan. Who better to put our trust in, than someone who knows us better than we know ourselves?
In ALL our ways, everything we do, He wants us to acknowledge him. He’ll keep us on the path we need to go, we just need to TRUST and obey.

You’ll have two songs earworming their way through my day. 🙂 Trust and Obey...a good, staunch staple on many hymn lists and Trust in the Lord...Many different melodies for that title, but I have my fav. Thank you for your commitment to sharing these things with us again. I have needed the reminders.
ReplyDeleteOh how true. I do experience this, as I am a caregiver to my hubby. Thank God he is doing better. Now as I read this Jesus has shown me that is what a wife should be even if our love one isn't in bad health. I should care for him and others because Jesus Christ cares for me. Yesterday was our 55th Anniversary, and I am praising God for always keeping me on the right path. Trust and Obey.
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much for doing this series. I have been so blessed and encouraged! Bless you and merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this series of wonderful verses, images and meditations. In today's scripture, which was my husband's favorite, I particularly like the translation using the word "submit." It says so much more than the word "acknowledge." Thank you again for sharing, and God bless you!
