Advent Series ~ Day 3 ~ DELIVERANCE

You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with
songs of deliverance.
Psalm 32:7

Webster's 1828 dictionary defines today's gift as:
DELIVERANCE - Rescue from danger or any evil.

DELIVER - 1. To free; to release, as from restraint; to set at liberty; as, to deliver one from captivity.   2. To rescue, or save.

There was a time when my cell phone, along with thousands of other cell phones in my home state unexpectedly gave a piercing alarm sound. A message on my phone read there was an "amber alert". A little girl was missing and details of her disappearance were in the text message.

As a Nana to 10 children, you can bet children are near and dear to my heart. I prayed this little girl would be found, many many people were praying. A wonderful thing happened, someone delivered her to the police station in the town where she had gone missing. She was safe, free, released, delivered, and reunited with her family.

Sometimes, when things are out of our control, or even if they're not, we pray and put our trust in God, His will for the situation, and His time. He delivers us in a way that is best for us, even though we may not see it at the time.
